Nigerian Community in Cote d’Ivoire PRO, Chief Ogbu bags award for humanitarian service in Nigeria
Saturday, the 21st of June, 2025 will remain ever green in the minds of High Chief Onyekachukwu Davidson Ogbu Tabel and his beautiful family, as he bags yet another deserving awards.
The Holy Bible in Luke 4:24 says, “Verily I said unto you, no prophet is accepted in his own country,” but that cannot be said of Chief Ogbu who was not only accepted but recognized with an award for his humanitarian works.
The Agbor-born Ivorian-based business mogul who is also the Public Relations Officer of the Nigerian Community in Cote d’Ivoire is known for his humanitarian activities, especially amongst Nigerians who are victims of trafficking, mostly those in prisons and police cells in Cote d’Ivoire.
Chief Ogbu was inducted into the National Development Hall of Fame by Elation Magazine, Royal International Magazine and Elation Communications Limited and given an award at the Nigerian National Merit Award Hall, Maitama, Abuja.
After receiving his award, the elated Humanitarian and Coordinator of Delta State Progressive Union in Cote d’Ivoire said the award is heart-touching. “In my dialect, they said when someone does something and you appreciate him, it will give him more courage to do more. The award is a call to service. It tells me that every little thing you are doing, in your quarter, in a nation’s building and development, it is being observed by people you don’t even know.
“The award is an encouragement, it is empowering, it is inspiring. I am so overwhelmed, I am so happy today. I have been dancing since, I have been so overwhelmed. It is the next step for me to get to my next level in life,” the Aku Ogudugbe 1, Iyikaiyi of the Universe noted.
While congratulating the awardee, President of the Nigerian Community in Cote d’Ivoire, High Chief Emeka Michael Onwuchelu said the award is well deserved and it is an eloquent testimony of his robust contributions to national development.
He further said, “Your passion and relentless pursuit of excellence as well as your contributions to the growth of the Nigerian Community in Cote d’Ivoire will continue to set you apart as a golden fish.”
While also sending his felicitations, High Chief Joseph Onah said, “I am thrilled that you have merited the induction into the National Development Hall of Fame by Elation Magazine, Royal International Magazine and Elation Communications Limited.
“This recognition is a true testament to your dedication and service to humanity cum passion for excellence. May this honour be a catalyst for even greater achievements and future successes. You have been a true friend and an inspiration to many. I am honored to be a part of your journey so far,” he concluded.

Recalled that High Chief Ogbu had been honoured on several occasions for his outstanding achievements notably among them are: Letter of Recognition from Naija Diaspora Magazine, Abuja; Youth Leadership Award by NIDO, Excellence in Service Award by Nigerian in Diaspora Organization NIDO-CI, etc.
